Last week, the tree went up at Market Cross ready for the Christmas Light switch-on, which will happen during Dickensian next weekend.
Dickensian is sure to draw crowds once again for a weekend full of market stalls, music and Christmas festivities - all kicking off on Saturday 23rd November.
The grand costume parade will take place both Saturday and Sunday at 3pm, leaving from County Square.
The town Christmas tree, which is already up and decorated by children from local schools, will be part of the Christmas light switch-on at 4pm on Saturday.
Even Roxy Cinema is getting in on the Dickensian fun, showing The Muppet Christmas Carol on Friday 22nd, and the classic Scrooge on Saturday.
If you're looking to start (or continue!) your Christmas shopping, there will be no shortage of vendor stalls to browse through. A new Ulverston and South Lakes calendar will be available from Amy Whelan Art, Moma's Kitchen will have handmade fudge and hot chocolate bombs, and Jeni's Brownies will be set up near the Market Hall entrance.
A full stage lineup can be found on Dickensian's website here.
As a reminder to those not interested in attending the popular festival, several main streets will be closed for the entirety of the weekend with no parking allowed during festival hours. Signs are already up and posted at major junctions.
