A sign has officially gone up on the Nook Farm land across from the Esso/Spar Shop at Mountbarrow Road and Bigland Drive, advertising new homes coming soon from Quince Homes . The new community, which will be called Pippins Beck, will have 3, 4 and 5-bedroom semi-detached and detached homes. The King's Head, located at 14 Queen Street, brings a new maker's market to town on Saturday, 18th October 2025 from 10am to 3pm. The market aims to display handmade crafts and gifts from local makers, and provide Cumbrian food and drink options from local vendors.
